The squat is a functional movement used worldwide in a clinical setting during assessments, but it is also used in the gym. From a clinical perspective, it is used in assessment, rehabilitation, and occasionally during treatment. A gym setting is used as a functional movement to build lower body strength and stability of the core and lower joints (when performed correctly).
