Yoga is a state of mind, it works on our consciousness, thinking, but now a days we think only asana, poses are yoga, no this is a part of Yoga, not total yoga..

According Ashtanga Yoga there are 08 parts - Yama, Niyama, Asana , Pranayama,Pratyahara, Dharma, Dhayan, Samadhi..

 

So you can see, Asana and Stretching is on 3rd no. , 

So thia is Yoga..

Stretching is physical exercise, and Yoga is Highest deep consciousness state of human being.
