I am naturopathy doctor and yoga trainer with 5 year experience.

30 minutes of yoga a day is enough to lose weight. As long as you practice consistently and regularly, about 3 to 7 times a week, you should see a change in your weight at some point. Those with higher weights are more likely to see results faster since it takes more effort to move their bodies

I understand that you mean yoga is not only the asanas but also includes the other practices like pranayama, meditation etc. My question is why should we reduce weight? We should never think and do yoga practices to target to "LOOK LIKE HIM/HER". (Weight loss doesn't mean only for appearance, but for healthy body also. I understand). Do the yoga practices and eliminate the negatives from your body and soul. This may reduce your body weight if really needs. Yogic science leads you towards the betterment in your lifestyle. Enjoy the essence of yoga by practicing.
