One of the techniques I use to get into meditation is as follow 

 

Step 1: Find a comfortable seat on a chair or mat and close your eyes.

 

Step 2: Begin with deep breathing, inhaling and exhaling for five breath cycles.

 

Step 3: Take a medium breath, inhaling and exhaling for five breath cycles with a sense of excitement.

 

Step 4: Now, return to normal breathing and focus on your natural breath for the remainder of the meditation.
