For a long time I have been researching on Mudras of hands and their importance in healing. There is one very important Mudra that I always remember to promote in my Yoga sessions and that is Apan Vaayu Mudra.
Let me write the benefits in short:
1. Also called as Mrit Sanjivani mudra this mudra can be very effective in heart strokes specially in emergency situations. Use this mudra immediately when anyone feels chest pain, pain in left arm starting from shoulder, acidic attack, imbalance in blood pressure, diabetes, Bloting problems, instability of mind etc.
2. Apan Vaayu Mudra works to control the air element, balances the earth and space element and allows water element to be free.
3. This mudra helps in removing waste from body which is very important to boost the immune system. So with a very simple manipulation of our fingers we act on four areas at a time to prevent ourselves from the heart attack. This Mudra acts as a very effective emergency treatment. The patient can easily be transported to a hospital, without causing any damage to heart.
Other Benefits of Apan Mudra:
1. As already discussed it helps in relieving chest pain, angina immediate effect.
2. It helps in keeping the blood pressure under control and also the cholesterol level of your body stays within limits.
3. It helps in the stimulation of the circulatory system.
4. It helps in calming down your nervous system.
5. It is really beneficial for people who are suffering from pain in knees. Practice this Mudra for 10-15 minutes everyday followed by Gyan mudra for 3-5 mts.
