Yoga poses alone cannot increase a person's height beyond their genetic potential. However, practicing yoga regularly can improve posture, alignment, and spinal health, which may give the appearance of being taller and more upright. Additionally, yoga can help stretch and strengthen the muscles supporting the spine, which may contribute to better overall posture and spinal elongation. While yoga can't change bone structure or alter genetic factors that determine height, it can optimize the body's natural alignment and promote better spinal health, which may have a positive effect on how tall you appear. read less

Unlike the typical mindset that growing your height in adulthood is not possible, yoga gives you a chance to grow some extra inches to your height and boost confidence. Yoga helps you to get those extra inches by stretching your back muscles and improving your posture.

Yoga poses can't directly increase height after growth plates fuse. However, they can improve posture and spinal alignment, making you appear taller and more confident.

Some say that Tadasana (palm tree pose) and Jestic Aen (stick pose) can help increase height. Tadasana stretches the spine and stimulates growth hormones, while Jestic Aen elongates the spine and decompresses the spinal discs. Surya Namaskar can also increase spinal flexibility.

Here are some other yoga poses that may help you appear taller:
  • Kasana: A cross-legged sitting position
  • Inhale and stretch: Inhale, stretch your hands up, and lengthen your spine
  • Exhale and bend forward: Exhale, keep your chin up, bend forward, and extend your spine
