Yes and no. Judo and kickboxing are both martial arts that initiate from a standing position. Judo also teaches the ground game but nearly to the extent BJJ does.

Both are different sports but both help in different ways.. swimming helps in endurance and kickboxing helps in cardio and self-defense

I would suggest that kickboxing is better, than the majority of martial arts, or dedicated defense system, for self defense purposes

Yes.Kickboxing is bad for knees as it is high impact exercise and put more stress on joints which can lead to knee injury.The person with bad knees are very much effected on knees and joints.
