2. What are your subjects? If you are studying history or philosphy, then it will be better if you pay more attention in class and revise at home. However in case of subjects like Maths, Science, Geography, Accountancy etc which ahve practical problems, you might be required to join some coaching.

Along with coaching, group discussion on any subject topic, or in problem solving helps one to get more insight to a subject, specially when one is very new to that field.

Yes, definitely you should join coaching, I know you can do self study however, self study will improve knowledge to some extent but to join a coaching you interact with other students and your teacher, also you might get to know their way of learning. some learns tough answers in a easy way. I would definitely recommend taking some serious and regular test series (or) regular self-assessments to evaluate your performance. It is also a good idea to test yourself with exam situations
