I have been mentoring students since 6 years from now for boards,jee and neet preparation.
It depends on many factors.Taking a drop is somewhere a big decision as in the whole year you will be facing lots of phases,mental pressure and alot.So if you belief in your potential,calibre and the most important if you think you can do hardwork then you should definitely drop.It will definitely help you to upgrade yourself but if not then it is worthless.I hope my answer helps.
