Here are few quick facts for you: Quick Facts - JEE Advanced Exam 2016 Number of papers The JEE Advanced entrance exam consists of two papers -- Paper I and Paper II. To complete the exam, you need to write both the papers (compulsory papers). Each of the papers would be of 3 hours duration and will be conducted on the same day i.e. 22^nd May (Sunday), 2016. Accepted languages You can write the JEE Advanced exam either in English or Hindi. As of now, there is no other language in which candidates are allowed to write the test. Pick the language which you are comfortable with. No. of attempts Unlike many other entrance exams, the number of attempts for JEE Advanced exam is limited. You can attempt for the exam only twice and that too consecutively. Foreign nationals’ eligibility The JEE Advanced exam can be taken even by foreign nationals including PIO and OCI card holders. However, foreign nationals are not eligible for reservation quota under various categories. Defense Service (DS) category seats Not all defense service personnel’s children are eligible for DS category seats. The DS category seats are reserved only for children whose parent was killed or permanently disabled in action during peacetime operations or war while in defense or paramilitary service.
