Overview

Today’s world is been moving away from the traditional approach to education. We need to look at students as dynamic individuals with a complex thought but not a passive receiver and just memorizing of information. To teach student 40 students in a class, individual needs knowledgeable thinking with open-minded, risk-taking and to be reflective in that position. I feel that my previous position of responsibilities has given me a lot of learning and scope of thinking about teaching and sharing knowledge. I reflected on my way of mentoring of event and position to my upcoming juniors, I felt that I was reflecting on my work and I believe that I was able to give my best-motivated suggestion and inspirational thoughts about the work and position to my juniors, that is where I get immense confident that I have mindset of sharing knowledge in a sensible way. This confident made me take home tuitions for kids for pocket money around institute which in return gave my lot to learn about child behaviour and my childhood.
Excellent education is seen when education becomes an idea than just information. Ideas enable us to get our minds around thoughts and attempts to answer the big question of information. Great ideas explain the world and one other to us. Great thinkers like Mark, Newton, Gandhi, Freud and other great scientist have become great because they had an idea. Information is just a collection of facts. We live in an age of information from YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook etc. An excellent education is called when information acquired is given a thought process with a critical question which indeed becomes an idea.
Opportunities for students to think about questions and arrive at answers on their own by asking questions and giving them time to think of the answer instead of stating answers and facts directly. Using a variety of prompts, clues, leading questions, discussions and explanations to ensure that the lesson does not become just monologue. Having an activity experiment followed by a small brief and discussion will give make students themselves derive the learning connections.
I would like to set a goal of a teaching-learning approach by taking two theories of constructivism and critical pedagogy. According to constructivism, learners actively learn through construct knowledge through experiments. My first goal for the two years will be to make students interact with the environment and try to make sense of it as opposed to given static information that is to be stored. Critical pedagogy in an approach where it pushes student to think critically about themselves, surrounding and the world, therefore, my second goal will be to develop student in two years to reflect carefully on their own and self-motivate such that they become more aware of existing biased world and are able to make we reasoned choices.
I see myself as alumni as to bringing in input from different interest group and looking at different power relations at making education policy which will be beneficiary for kids and changing education system. As there is change away from the traditional style of education there can be minor disadvantageous as its new approach so, looking at changes can speed up making efficient policies
