I recall a situation in my previous job when I had to adjust my communication style to better suit the needs of the person I was talking to. I was working on a project with a customer who had a very different communication style than my own.

One was a group of young graduates being trained in interview skills, the other was a senior professional being trained in communication techniques. At both the places, I had to adapt Transactional Analysis apporach... with young grads it was a Parent-child style where on other assignment it was adult-to-adult conversion.
