My kid got selected and we got a call on the same day, after 3-4 hours from the time of interaction. By the time we got the call, me and my wife had already discussed of plan B to get ready for the next school's selection process. Luckily we didn't have to go through it. My kid got selected and we got a call on the same day, after 3-4 hours from the time of interaction. By the time we got the call, me and my wife had already discussed of plan B to get ready for the next school's selection process. Luckily we didn't have to go through it.
We had also gone through this site before and many others about the interaction process, etc. Were not able to have a clear picture as to what was expected either from our child or us. But as one of the parent wrote, it depends entirely upon the kid, his/her mood that day and his level of interaction/involvement on the activities. I don't think it matters whether the mother is a housewife or working. Just take your kid there and leave it to him/her.
Be confident and pray that your kid is selected. If not then don't loose heart and try plan B.

@Manjunath.. Have you perhaps mentioned on the application that your wife is a freelancer? During my son's interaction, to our suprise, the teacher spoke to my husbnad and me. They were keen to know if I was working and how do I commute to work and who looks after the child at home. I have a full tiem job and also have grand parents around at home.... more»

I suppose they were impressed with my son otherwise they wouldn't have interacted with us. This is the reason that made me infer that probably preference is given to non-working mothers or as yiou said freelancers and moms who work from home. Probably we have to wait. Today is the 7 day and i'm not sure if we are lucky. «less

Had called up the school just now, got to know that the max days of expecting the call for selection is 10days from the interaction. If its beyond 10days and still not received the call then, we should assumed that the child is not selected.

I personally went to school and was told that, if you dont get call wthin 7 to 10 days then no chances..

Even both of us are working and we were asked how do you manage the kid. we have a help at home and also take the kid to Creche which is there in our office.

Hi All, Regarding Transportation I had asked the School authorities and they told me that we may check out the private vendors who run this service. They pointed to the one outside the school (tea shop at the corner just outside school) and saw their board as well. looks like we need to get in touch with them and find out the driver/vehicle running... more»

They pointed to the one outside the school (tea shop at the corner just outside school) and saw their board as well. looks like we need to get in touch with them and find out the driver/vehicle running in your area and directly talk to him. Planning to check with them next year feb/march. «less

Thank you all for the wishes. My 2 cents on the selection criteria & whether mother's occupation is relevant. My wife is a freelancer & I do know cases where both the parents work and their kids study here. Every school has different selection criteria & this one would have too. My wife is a freelancer & I do know cases where both the parents work and their kids study here. Every school has different selection criteria & this one would have too.

As I had mentioned earlier in this thread, there was no conversation with the parents or the kid during the interaction & we were worried for the same reason, but still got the call. We can only contemplate the criteria & I am sure none of us would be able to nail it.

In my opinion, it all depends on how the kid engages himself/herself on that day & that time which is really not in our control.

Also, know that the ratio of selection will be skewed due to the number of available seats versus the applications issued.

I was also told that the call should come within 7 days for selections. If any seats are left vacant due to withdrawals, they will look at the people who were not called and it is a long shot.

Hope this info is helpful.

I can only say that we have been lucky and I wish all the parents waiting for the call luck & the very best.
