Got to know from school that vidyasagar admission forms for 2014-2015 will be issued from oct 26 to oct 31 . Timing is from 9 to 12

Applications for 2014-15 academic year for playgroup will be issued from 26th Oct to 31st Oct (9 30 to 12 00). Kids born from 1st Jun 2011 to 31st May 2012 only are eligible.

Note: People start queuing up from previous night for the application.

I did not get my child in playgroup & now was thing to get him in nursery & they said they ll issue the forms for nursery session. we can be in waitinglist if wan. Anybody are there any chances of getting through waiting list.

What is said by Srivatsa is 100% true. I have experienced it personally the same. When I went with my kid for interaction she was only 1 year 10 months old and there were no questions, they allow 4 kids in one room for 5 mins and ask us to leave after that. Hello friends, my son is currently studying in Lkg in shishya nursery, today he was called for assessment for prep 1, the teacher assessed him for nearly 45 mins, we also showed her his markscards, activity sheets, books, etc. My son was confident enough and answered promptly and correctly whatever he was asked to write and say. Hello friends, my son is currently studying in Lkg in shishya nursery, today he was called for assessment for prep 1, the teacher assessed him for nearly 45 mins, we also showed her his markscards, activity sheets, books, etc. My son was confident enough and answered promptly and correctly whatever he was asked to write and say. After the assessment we were asked to leave and were told that they will get back to us when a vacancy arises. Could anyone help me or guide me as to what happens after this. Are all the kids who were called for assessment selected, in our case their were a total of 5 children being assessed for one seat of prep 1. After the assessment we were told that we would have to meet the principal but suddenly theytold that the principal is expecting some guests and they will only give a call. Iam totally confused so if anyone can guide or advice it would be great. Thanks in advance «less

1. The school issues 1000+ application forms for 245 seats. They've 7 sections of 35 students each admitted to playgroup. Criteria for giving forms is age-group 2.2yrs to 3.2yrs. There is no first-come basis as applications are issued for 3 - 5 days
2. While submitting the application forms parents are asked to select option 1 or option 2. Option 1 is for getting admitted to Vidyashilp from 1st standard and option 2 is for getting admitted to Vidyaniketan from 1st standard. Though the application brochure mentions this is not done, this is followed by the school illegally
3. This is one of the means for avoiding RTE being applicable for the school. As RTE is only applicable from 1st standard, the school makes sure to admit from playgroup itself thereby filling in the seats for 1st standard four years ahead
4. There is no interview criteria and most of the selection / admissions are made before issuing the application forms. Preference is given to those students who select Vidyashilp option 1 while submitting the application form. These students are interviewed first
5. The school claims lottery (1:3) system of admission. No preference is given to those living close to schools. The lottery system makes sure to select one non-working parent and non-kannadiga kid only. 90% of the school children come from affluent families and are of non-Karnataka origin
The school officially denies the above. But the same can be verified by looking at the comments of various parents available at various parent / school review blogs «less
