I believe Maths is not like any other subject – it cannot be learnt ‘By-Heart’ – it has to be understood… fundamentally. So my approach is to make the student understand the fundamentals properly and also the “Why” of it. At the same time, I believe in developing in the students, a practical problem-solving approach which would, in fact, become easier if the fundamentals are clear. I also believe in teaching them a wide variety of problems, as this would help them tackle problems other than the those from the prescribed text book. I pay personal attention - specially to weaker students to improve their level and confidence.
The above points would, generally, not only improve the students understanding but also score.
