Certainly! A regionalism in American English refers to words or phrases that are specific to a particular region or state within the United States. These terms might not be widely understood or used outside of their specific geographic area. Here's an example of a regionalism:

"Buggy"

In many parts of the United States, particularly in the Midwest and parts of the South, the term "buggy" can refer to a shopping cart or a grocery cart. However, in other regions, such as the Northeast or West Coast, people may not use or understand the word "buggy" in that context.

So, while "buggy" may be widely recognized in certain areas of the United States as a synonym for a shopping cart, it might be considered a regionalism since it may not be commonly used or understood across the entire country.
