Data science is a broad topic. It can be divided into many parts like data analyst, machine learning, artificial intelligence etc. It also requires good knowledge of statistics.
The best way to start this journey is to pick up a programing language like python or java or R. You can also learn data analysis in MS excel or MS power BI. You can get the data sets online. Then learn machine learning I.e basically analytics part with seral tools. This will take quite some time. After that you can move onto advance stage.
