The Mumbai based autonomous agency Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Regional Rural Banks (RRB) exam for multiple positions in the following RRB banks:

A total of 16,560 candidates will be hired in the 2016 IBPS RRB recruitment process across India.
The IBPS RRB exam is conducted in two phases – Online exam and Interview. While many apply and appear for the online first round, only shortlisted candidates are called for the interview. After the interview, further shortlisting is done by examiners to pick the best of students and place them in RRBs of the country.
The first round or online exam of IBPS RRB is also referred to as Common Written Exam (CWE).
For Officer Scale I, there are three phases in IBPS RRB exam namely, Prelims , Mains and Interview. The interview or final round is conducted by by the Nodal RRBs, NABARD and IBPS in consultation with other authorities.
If students have preference in the banks they will be posted, they can mention those in the IBPS RRB application form.
In 2016, the IBPS RRB exams are being conducted in November and December respectively.
A single candidate can apply for different RRB positions/openings. However, they have to apply individually for each exam and pay the required fees / charges separately for each post applied for.
Nationality / Citizenship criteria for IBPS RRB exam applicants:
A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

For Officer Scale- III- 21- 40 years
For Officer Scale- II- 21 – 32 years
and later than 31.08.1995 (both dates inclusive)
For Officer Scale- I-18 – 30 years
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – 18 – 28 years
