I am a post graduation in Mathematics, PhD in Computer Science from IIT Delhi, with rich experience and passion for teaching and learning Mathematics. I have co- authored NCERT X std Mathematics book. I was awarded the M. Bholanath Gold medal by Delhi University in 1988 for highest score in Mathematics at the Undergraduate level. In BODMAS formula, do we proceed from left to right or as per the order of letters in the word bodmas. I mean, if multiplication and division both are there in an expression and multiplication is in the left of division then which operation will be taken first, multiplication or division. According to one rule we proceed from left to right, in this case multiplication first and if we proceed according to other rule which says that we have to go as per order of letters then division first. I am confused... !!! Plz help. Thanx
