At Mindtree, we had an internal branding cum behavioral training program called COLORS. The objective of this initiative was to ensure that people joining Mindtree inculcate Mindtree's core values and transforms as complete Mindtree minds. Values: Innovative Ideas, Expert Thinking and Collaborative Spirit. I had to challenge my Managers to bring this program to Chennai and start this to our junior batch. I was the Anchor for COLORS from Chennai and had to build the team of 25 minds required to perform its activities. We jotted out key behavioral traits that have to be induced to the new joinees and prepared activities around them.

Mindtree gave me a wonderful opportunity to be part of SpeakUp Club, a community dedicated to help employees improve their communication skills. This was a modified version of Toast Masters' Club, famous in Europe. I was a SpeakUp Champion and played the roles of Ah-counter (one who counts the number of speech breakers and fillers), grammarian (identifying basic grammatical glitches problems in a person's English) and elevator (assessing the complete session). Through this process, we had a complete one year time of rich experience assisting and guiding professional with communication skills.

At engage4more... I had two interns working with me for our IP called Corporate Talent Championship. As a Business Communication guy, I had a helluva time with them. It started with Email etiquette which is the basic of direct marketing. By the time they left, they were completely familiar with what works on Social media and what does not. My working style would be to leave my students with questions. Questions, so that I can build some curiosity around the subject and push self learning. I believe self learning is the best way of learning. My approach would be to ensure I build the attitude in them to know and understand any concept in-depth by their research and guidance.

During my engineering days, I had great passion to teach and hence ended up teaching school kids in my colony. I was from the same school and hence knew the problems students face. Sentence formation plays the most important role in this age. We must allow them to commit mistakes and let them understand that it is okay to have problem in learning a foreign language. Things are not that tough if kids enjoy learning English. I often use my music sense to help them pick better.
