On occasion, I assisted with Social Science, particularly around exam time. Over the years, I've been touched by the continued connection with many of my former students. Some of them have even reached out to me on Facebook, asking for my contact details to check in and express how they haven't forgotten me. I truly cherish these gestures of warmth and care. Curious to understand what had left a lasting impact on my students, I asked one of them about what they remembered most about my teaching methods. I was deeply moved by their response: "Sir, aap friends/dost ki tarah padhate the." It resonated with me, as I’ve always encouraged my students to see me not just as a teacher, but as a friend. This reflection reminded me of why I always prefer to be addressed as a friend rather than a formal "Sir" — creating a comfortable space for learning and connection. It’s these kinds of heartfelt memories that continue to motivate me in my teaching journey.
