Since your child has good grasping power, let him learn how he wants to do it or how he is comfortable.
In addition to this, to solve his problem of patience. You can tell him to write what he learnt on a piece of paper so that he sits at one place and does some scribbling or writing, even if it's for a short time. Slowly and over some time, he may sit and enjoy writing his learning as well. Then you can increase his patience for any other work also.
Kids learn to become patient at their own time; our focus should be to make learning fun and engaging.
