Hello, Glory,
If you are looking for answers about how to increase your vocabulary, then, you may have to answer another question — what is the purpose? Different purposes warrant different techniques.
For instance, if you are looking to increase your vocabulary with a long term perspective in mind, you may do one / many of the following:
a) Read as much as possible — When you read, you will stumble upon new words. Do not fret and immediately run to a dictionary; instead, try to understand the meaning of the new word from the context it is used in. It develops in you the skill of learning words contextually.
b) Learn words in themes — Learning words related to various themes can also help you enrich your vocabulary. For instance, if you wish to learn collocations, then you may look at learning collocations related to "time," "business," "arguments and expressing opinions," etc.
If you are, however, trying to learn vocabulary to crack a test — a short-term goal — then, your approach can be different. For example, learning to guess the meaning of a word using its root, prefix, or suffix will help you succeed in answering vocabulary questions on a test.
Well, regardless of what your goal is, working towards building up your vocabulary knowledge is cardinal for a successful career. Watching web series (native ones), English films, listening to podcasts will surely help you.
I hope this helps!
