Fullerene, also known as Buckminster Fullerene, was discovered by Curl, Kroto and Smalley. 

• It is the third allotrope of Carbon. The empirical formula of the family is Cn, where n is the in the number of carbon atoms. 
• It has the shape of a soccer ball. 
• It is named after an architect Buckminster Fuller who designed a dome that resembles a soccer ball. 

The Fullerene molecule contains 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons, also known as Bucky Balls. 

They have a hollow cage-like structure, and each carbon atom is attached to three other carbon atoms. It is an electrical insulator, but when doped with alkali metals, it converts into a superconductor. It is a soft solid, but when compressed to more than half it's volume, it becomes as hard as a diamond. As it is minimal in size and hollow from inside, it can be used to administer medicines inside the human body. 

Also, it is used to store hydrogen. The other two allotropes of Carbon are graphite and diamond. The significant difference between Fullerene and the other two allotropes of Carbon is in their structure and arrangement of carbon atoms. 

• Diamond has a substantial macromolecular structure. 
• Graphite has a layered structure of hexagonal. Fullerene can be reduced to nanosize. 
• Diamond is an electrical insulator, whereas graphite can conduct electricity. 
• Diamond is transparent, whereas Fullerene is black. 
• Diamonds have covalent bonding.

Although the zoom is trendy these days, it is not safe as the data is not encrypted. You can use Microsoft Teams to share the slides and other study materials, and you can also take video lectures through that and assign work to students using that.
