If you are taking coaching classes you must need self-study. Even if you take private tuition you must need self - study. If you have self-study no need of coaching classes and private tuitions . Finally self-study is very essential for everybody to become successful person. Basic are compulsory for class 10.

It totally depends on you and the tutor. If you are comfortable with group study and there is a good coaching institute where proper attention is given to each student then go for the coaching institue.
And if you want a tution where the attention should be given just to you as you are not comfortable with group tutions then go for private tution.
Talking about self-study, if you have studied well in school and your teachers are really helpful, you can do studies on your own and can get the help of teachers for practicing the external reference books, then you can opt for self-study.
