Fewer is used for objects which are countable eg. I have fewer coins in my pocket. (Here coins are countable objects) Less is used for objects which can not be counted but can be measured by their mass. for eg There is less milk in the cup. (Here milk is not countable but we can measure the quantity) ... ...more
