I am a holistic practitioner of Kundalini yoga from past 12 years.
My Guru parampara is from Mahavatar Babaji , however our lineage goes much beyond that. Meditation is a step by step process to tune your energy so your body and mind are at ease. Sitting for long hours and letting our mind wonder with various thoughts is going to get lethargic in time. Just like we expect our internal organs to function at all time, mind also needs to be understood the same way. Instead of forcing anything upon us, we follow methods to increase our concentration and focus, which are two different aspects but work in tandem as one during meditation. Advanced meditation means when you can focus at one point and concentrate on different energy points or chakras in our body, without losing focus or getting distracted . This comes with practice! There are various methods to sync your body and mind. However, the body has to feel comfortable first so that the mind can settle in ease to get into meditative state. Few methods that will be covered : 1. Sitting posture or asanas convenient as per age and physical capability. 2. Different methods of pranayama so your body utilises most of the air you breath effectively. 3. How to focus at one point and concentrate at different energy points or chakras. 4. Basic Maha kriya to loosen and energise your spinal column. 5. Initiation into other maha kriyas like Shiva Namaskaram etc ( subjective) Diet counselling for interested meditators so the energy channels are not blocked during practice.
