IdentityI have been tutoring for 4+years and I am still learning how to improve my teaching skills. I strongly believe teaching skills and experience is a must to become a successful tutor.
There are traits that are equally important as summarized below:
Passion: this is crucial. If the student senses that you don't have enough passion about the topic you are teaching, their level if interest goes exponentially down and the result is an inefficient tutoring session.
Innovation: students are all different in the way they learn. A good tutor is one that can understand that and can adjust his/her teaching method to each and every student and their different way of grasping the material .
Persistence: this is an important skills that tutors need to develop. For the topics like math, it takes time for students to understand and master. This needs a lot of patience and persistence from the teacher.
