Let me explain how the UGC NET cut-off is decided: 1. _Total number of candidates_: The total number of candidates who appeared for the exam. 2. _Total number of seats_: The total number of seats available for the award of JRF and Assistant Professor. 3. _Category-wise reservation_: Seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates as per government norms. 4. _Subject-wise distribution_: Seats are distributed across various subjects based on the number of candidates and vacancies. 5. _Normalization process_: To ensure fairness, the normalization process is applied to adjust scores across sessions and subjects. 6. _Cut-off calculation_: The cut-off is calculated based on the following formula: Cut-off = (Number of seats / Total number of candidates) x 100 1. _Category-wise cut-off_: Separate cut-offs are calculated for each category (General, SC, ST, OBC, and PwD). 2. _Subject-wise cut-off_: Cut-offs are also calculated for each subject. 3. _Rounding off_: Cut-offs are rounded off to two decimal places. 4. _Final cut-off_: The final cut-off is declared, and candidates who score above it are considered qualified.
