For candidates who are going to attend the UGC NET exam, registration is the most crucial step. This is an online procedure, the window of which remains open only for a certain period of time. Within that time frame, applicants are expected to fill up the form and submit it. The initial move towards the UGC NET exam is to enrol for the test. However, the UGC NET online registration for June 2019 got over on March 30th, 2019. Candidates who have already registered can download the UGC NET admit card from the official website i.e. ntanet.nic.in.

The overall filling of UGC NET application form is done in 4 simple steps. Students can complete all the 4 steps together or at separate times.

Step-1: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the system generated Application No.

Step-2: Upload scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph (between 10 kb – 200 kb) and Candidate’s Signature (between 4kb – 30kb) in JPG/JPEG format.

Step-3: Make a payment of fee using SBI/HDFC/Syndicate/ICICI Payment Gateway and keep proof of the fee paid.

Step-4: Take a print of the Confirmation Page after successful remittance of the fee.

Step 1: How to Register?

Registration: New users need to register on the official website of UGC NET 2019, www.ntanet.nic.in and complete the registration process by filling the required details.

*Note: Candidates are advised to go through the Terms and Conditions and then click on ‘Proceed Further’.

Step 2: Fill your Personal and Educational details

An online application form is displayed, wherein candidates are required to enter the required details such as name, gender, nationality, 4 preferences of exam centre, NET subject, the course at PG level, reservation category and other details.

Submission: After filling all the details carefully, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Confirmation: After submission, a Review Page will appear where candidates can review the details entered by them. After verification, click the ‘Final Submit’ button to submit the application form. Save the confirmation page for future reference.
Application Number: Application number will be generated after the submission of the form. Candidates must save the number as it is used for logging in and for other purposes.

Step 3: Upload Scanned Images

Candidates must upload scanned images as per the mentioned format and dimensions. The photograph must be clicked on or after March 1, 2019, clearly specifying the name of the candidate and date of clicking the photo. The specifications are given below:

Step 4: Application Fee Payment

Once the photo is uploaded, candidates can go to the payment page and click on ‘Yes, I do’ option to complete the process. They can choose to pay through any of the methods- online mode using a debit/credit card or net banking, or the offline mode of E-Challan.

UGC NET Registration Fee

Below is a brief about the different payment methods a candidate can opt for.

Online Mode: Candidates can pay through Debit Card / Credit Card or Net Banking by entering the sixteen-digit number, name and CVV mentioned on the card. The bank will send an OTP for verification purpose. If accepted, additional charges will be applicable (if any).

Offline Mode: For paying offline, candidates have to download the challan from the website. Fill in the application form by giving details such as name and the exam applied details. The challan needs to be paid in either Syndicate/Canara/ICICI bank of India. Once done, the challan number needs to be entered for completion of the registration process.

E-Challan: There is also a provision of E-Challan if any candidate opts for it. The system generates an E-Challan, which the candidate has to get printed and submitted along with the fee to any nearest Syndicate Bank/ ICICI/Canara Bank.

Important points to be noted while registering for UGC NET Exam.

Applied for: Candidates need to select whether Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship

Subject opted for: Select your Master degree specialisation subject out of the given 81 subjects

City of Examination: Select one city from 237 cities where the test is being conducted

Name: Fill your Name

Gender: Choose Gender

Reservation Category: Select the Reservation Category from the drop-down

Mailing and Permanent Address: Fill your correct mailing and permanent address

Educational Qualifications: Enter your qualification details properly

Password: Enter a password and security question and answer, it. This password will be used for all future correspondence

Points to be noted before filling the form

If step 2 and step 3 are incomplete the final submission of the online application form will be considered as rejected and no correspondence on this account will be entertained.
Fee once paid offline cannot be refunded. However, if the payment is done using a debit/credit card, the amount will be refunded to the concerned bank account within a week.
Candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including Confirmation Page to NTA through Post/ Fax/ By hand, since the entire application process of UGC NET June 2019 is online.
Candidates are advised to keep visiting the NTA’s website regularly for the latest updates and keep checking their e-mails.
