I am working as a WordPress developer from 2 years. But from beginning to till now I am working on the same things, what should I learn now to grow my career?

Since you are a Wordpress developer for 2 years now you come under the Web development category in the industry. You can take multiple career paths to grow in your career. Web Developer: You can learn all web related technologies like PHP, Python, ruby and related frameworks like Laravel, Django, Ruby on rails. Java based web development using Spring/ Hibernate, Struts. Web Middleware development like EJB, Webservices (REST/ Microservices), Backend development like JPA and Databases like MySQL server. Cloud Computing like Amazon Webservices, Azure. Tools like Git, Eclipse, Maven, Jenkins. Then, take career path in web development. Front End Developer: Since now after all the UI and UX related fields have grown in the market. Front end engineers and developers are needed very much. You can learn all the front end technologies like HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular JS, React JS, Responsive web design using Bootstrap/Foundation. Then, take career path in Front end development. Website Design: Since you are already a wordpress developer. You can become a website designer and ecommerce store designer. Learn additional related technologies like WooCommerce, Drupal, Magento, Adobe Photoshop. UI/UX Designer: If you have inclination towards designing you can take the path of becoming a UI/UX expert. Learn design software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, wireframing, Prototyping, User Experience design, User Interface Design, Graphic designing, Interaction Design (Ixd), Animations. It's great to see your dedication and contribution to WordPress community as a developer. However, WordPress in itself is so huge and growing so quickly that I believe, 2 years still is not enough time duration to have an expertise in it. I have been working and contributing to WordPress community for a few years and one thing that helped me identify my weaknesses in WordPress is support forums.

I provide support in WordPress and WordPress forums. This helps me in coming across various different issues that people face while using WordPress and WordPress forums. Many times, I come across the questions that I'm unable to answer and that is the moment when I realize that there is still so much to learn. I subscribe to those query threads so that when someone else suggests the solution, I also learn in return.

Therefore, I suggest you contribute to the support forums, WordPress projects, and WordCamps. It will help you grow in the industry.
