There is a big difference as IELTS requires understanding of the four modules and the acquaintance with different type of questions.  The approach to teaching  changes depending upon the requirement of the student.  If it is IELTS training, it becomes vital to teach them about the pattern of IELTS examination.  However, in case if teaching Spoken English,  it becomes important  to focus more on verbal part or the speaking skills of the learner. Moreover, Spoken English classes are mostly activities based classes which enhance the general understanding of English.
