Hi, Fahad, Don’t feel self-conscious about pausing. Interviewers expect you to pause and think before answering complex questions. If your pause starts to feel awkward, it’s okay to say something like, “That’s a great question. I just need a moment to decide on the best example to share.”

one of the few things which work is 1. stand in front of the mirror and practice 2. Study about the comapany well before in advance 3. try to see the hr persons linkedin account that will help you to understand the person who would be interviewing you 4. You have been called for an interview by the company because looking at your resume you have the qualities which they seek in a candidate. Truly just belive that and then go in for the interview saying this to urself that while you need the job the company also needs candidates like you to add value to their businesses 5. dont be scared of rejections at all. Never think of it because if you do, then you tend to get conscious and instead of being confident younstart thinking if rejected what i shud do or what u shud do so u dont get rejected. last but not the least make urself hnderstand this very well “ when its an interview nothing goes as you think it will the sewuence of questions and answers the number of questions asked the way ur asked to describe your work ex etc etc....think of an interview as a normal conversation between two people where you are trying to introduce urself to the next person and not for the sake of getting selected, you are introducing yourself to the next person just so that they know you thats all. leave the rest upto the interviewer. wish you all the best for the future and do not hesitate to contact me incase if you have any doubts call me freely to consult about anything Regards, Harshal read less

As soon as you reach the interview place, take a deep breadth and remind yourself that this is not the end of world or your career, just saying this will send positive signals to your brain and you will feel relaxed. When the interviewer asks you a question, take some time to frame your answer in your mind so that you don't stammer much. Finally, rehearse and practice as much as you can before each Interview. Hello Fahad, It is natural that candidates (both campus out and experienced at times) fear interviews and the various processes associated with it. Most of us get very conscious and nervous when we have to appear for a personal interview. Emotions along with the underlying fear completely hamper your body language. They make you sweat and straighten your curls (curly hair) while you are appearing for an interview. My recommendation to you is: 1. Identify the reasons for fear of interviews 2. Eliminate the causes of fear in interviews Identify the Reasons for Fear of Interviews: The fears need to be dealt early so that these gestures (signs) do not become a habit. For this, it is essential that you understand what exactly causes the fear of job interviews. Fear for job interviews could be cause of: 1. Lack of preparation 2. Fear of not getting the job 3. Fear of facing an interviewer 4. Lack of confidence in on-self 5. History of previous jobs Eliminate the Causes of Fear in Interviews: Once you eliminate the causes of fear in an interview, you are sure to bag the job easily. Here are some suggestions that will help you eliminate the fear from its root. 1. Go fully prepared 2. This is not the last job opportunity 3. Meet the interviewer eye-in-eye 4. Pride over your success 5. Stay motivated 6. Dress perfectly 7. Schedule the plan for the day beforehand 8. You need to plan at least a day in advance the activities for the day of the interview. Plan the various activities of the day like: a. When you will wake up? b. How you will travel to the location? c. What all you will carry along with you? I had the same fear in my initial interviews. There were times when I had to cancel my interviews because of my fear. But then one day I prepared to go directly a face to face interview. Firstly, get well prepared in your area of interview. Once you are aware of your subject, you become very confident naturally. Secondly, do not think about outcome and never bother about the opposite people's reaction or impression. They may judge you but bottom line, you are trying to overcome your fear. Next, make a notes of the questions, write your answers for them and prepare by taking mock interview for yourself. Most importantly, maintain a good dress code, body language and try to keep eye contact with the interviewers. If you do not understand the question, ask again, listen properly and them respond. read less

Dear Fahad, It is but natural to feel anxious about an interview. You first need to identify what makes you so nervous about interviews? Is it the feeling that someone is scrutinizing you, your mannerisms, your appearance etc or is it the fear of surprises i.e not knowing what the other person may ask you or may behave? This uncertainty is likely to cause stress and anxiety in any interview. But be aware that such anxiety and nervousness will only cover up your strengths and qualifications. Once you have identified the reason for your fears, try and work on them one by one. Go prepared for any interview. The more you prepare for it, the more confident you will be. Take a look at your resume, build your profile in your mind and talk confidently about yourself, your aspirations etc. Even the smallest amount of negativity can stop you from expressing yourself. Practice, practice and practice . Think of it like going on a date. You need to show off your positive qualities. An interview is always a learning experience , no matter what happens and you need to put all your efforts into making them see a confident you. You need to understand that there is already something they liked about you which is why you are there in the first place giving an interview. Think of that. Nothing deserves your nervousness. Nothing deserves your stress. Whenever you feel nervous briefly close your eyes, take a deep breath and visualize yourself acing the interview, smile and go ahead. Take time to think of answers before rushing in to answer any question. calm yourself, take a deep breath and then answer. Focus on the questions being asked and you wont even realise your stress and anxiety. If you need to discuss more, feel free to get in touch with me. read less

Hi Fahad, As per my opinion, a person gets nervous only under two circumstances. First, when he thinks that he is getting judged and second, when he thinks he knows lesser than others. First, understand the term ‘INTERVIEW’. It’s nothing, just an internal view that an interviewer wants to take because till the time, interviewer doesn’t know you, how is he gonna hire you dear. It’s nothing, just a session of questions where they want to about you, your career and your thinking. And if you know yourself then it will become piece of cake for you. Before going for any interviewer, just keep one thing in mind. If you have knowledge then they people need you more than you need that job. Interview Skills is basically divided into three categories: PERSONALITY means how you dress up and how do you present yourself. ANSWERING SKILLS means how you answer question. Get yourself prepared for the questions you are going to encounter in Interview. And try to find a diplomatic answer for the question which can create predicament. For example: If Interviewer asks: Are you nervous? This question is a predicament. You can neither say ‘Yes’ nor ‘No’. For every question like this, candidates are advised to be diplomatic. Answer can be like, “A bit, I think it is quite obvious also.” “One tends to get nervous when one is getting judged, so little bit of nervousness is quite obvious.” “I was nervous, when I was outside waiting for my turn, but now it’s fine.” CONFIDENCE: It means one believes in oneself. Definitely, there are many Dos and Don’ts. But at least get yourself prepared for first two traits I have mentioned above, i.e., a better Personality and good Answers for the questions which have the probability to be asked in interviewer. And about confidence, I know very well; No matters how many people say, "Be Confident.", but reality is different. I would say just believe on yourself not because I am saying because life is what we want to see it like. Just look positive. And for better help you can read some motivational novels like, "The monk who sold his ferrari". This is my favourite novel. I hope for your success. read less
