Hello Sheetal, I have been using the online medium for a very long time. I use professional online platforms and have developed a global practice. The rules of the game in remain the same, whether in online or on-venue trainings. It's just that the technology gives us better reach. This is why I just love it. There are a few rules though - 1) You have to use paid professional platforms not the free ones. 2) You have to develop good relationships with people before having them come in online trainings. 3) You have to plan your modules differently as the attention span of people gets severely compromised in the online environments. 4) You have to develop yourself so that you can establish good connectivity with people in your online trainings. You will need to have a good handle on your intuitive abilities here. 5) You will need to always have a Plan B ready in case there is a failure in technology sometime. Having a trust based relationship developed enhances your credibility tremendously as then the people know you and have faith in you. I have answered your query in a generic manner. If you need some specific details you may reach me on my mail. All the very best. read less

Good day Sheetal, Online training can come in two formats. One is a prerecorded online training program that allows participants to follow along and take the training at their own leisure pace and the second is a live instructor-led online training. It is preferable to go for the first type if at all online training for soft skills is being considered. Otherwise if you have an extensive video call where you are able to see all the participants and vice versa, there shouldn't be that many differences from a regular face-to-face training Good luck! read less

How to give online trainings : There are tools like webex, Skype etc which help in this. Essentially whichever tool you choose it should allow you to share your desktop screen with the participant so that they can view your presentation. Suggest go only for audio chat and not video chat as connection will be more smooth without call dropping PRO's : 1. You are not restricted by geography to conduct trainings. you can connect to international students 2. You are not restricted by time of day. You can conduct the training late evening or early morning if need be 3. You do not need physical space to conduct the training. You can login from you home CON's 1. There may be restrictions on how many students can login to same call. Call quality could suffer in case of too many students 2.Have to rely only on voice communication. Body language will not play a part 3. May not be suitable for all type of trainings. For example if training requires personal interaction, games etc read less

Tutor

That personal touch is missing a lot. I find that online tutorials are ver impersonal and the course becomes boring. Also with courses such as communication teaching about non - verbal communication etc becomes challenging.

Dear Sheetal, There are two types of online training. 1st type includes an automated course and videos available on cloud server , where student go and refer to the material at their own speed. These are self stud type training. 2nd type is of interactive training where there is a physical tutor available at some central location delivering the session by meas of the video conferencing, where there is possibility of TWO WAY live communication happening between the tutor and student regardless of there physical location. This delivery method is most popular now days and very effective. The only challenge in this type of delivery is that students must have a good quality broadband connection (e.g. at least minimum upto 4 Mbps Plan recommended) for smooth audio and video transmission. read less

Online training is really helpful if you have certain tools at your disposal. There is nothing which cannnot be done via online training compared to an offline training. For example skype can be used for a face to face interaction. There are some preconditions to online training like high speed internet for both parties. I conduct online training with google hangout, WEBEX, sametime and Lotus live. You can also take remote access of the student's system if needed to help him resolve an issue and there is also a facility of screen sharing to show exactly how a certain thing should be done. The only dependancy for online training is high speed internet without disruption even if there is a power failure (you need an invertor for your Wifi router to work with the broadband) for a seamless transition and knowledge sharing.
