Misconception 1. It is a language used only by priests. Fact: Not really. It is used in many places by many people. Check the mottos of several govt institutions. Misconception 2. It is a dead language. Fact: Well, check your name and it should be mostly Sanskrit. Misconception 3. It... ...more

Misconception 2. It is a dead language.

Fact: Well, check your name and it should be mostly Sanskrit.

Misconception 3. It isn’t spoken anymore.

Fact: Well, there are 14000+ people who speak in Sanskrit. One of the examples I know is my senior in my Engineering college.

Misconception 4. It isn’t relevant now.

Fact: If it isn’t relevant, why do u think they’re trying to use Sanskrit for super computers? Because, Sanskrit language is the most scientific. There are no silent letters. You write how you speak.

There are several misconceptions but these are the most worrying.

India should conserve the Sanskrit language because it serves as a vital link to the country's rich cultural heritage, acting as the foundation for much of Indian philosophy, literature, religion, and science, with a vast body of ancient texts written in Sanskrit providing access to invaluable knowledge across various fields, including medicine, astronomy, and mathematics; essentially, preserving Sanskrit is crucial for understanding and appreciating the depth of Indian civilization.
