In Class 6 Science Chapter 8, you will learn-
Section 8.1 – This section deals with joints, types of joints such as ball and socket joint, pivot joint, hinge joint and fixed joints. The structure, location and function of these joints, bones involving the formation of different types of joints and other details are described in this section using activities, images and simple language. Technical terms such as cartilage, carpels, etc. are introduced to students through this section. The human skeleton, ribcage, backbone, shoulder bones, pelvic bones, etc. are explained in detail along with diagrams. There are activities making the students understand which parts of their body are flexible and which joints do these parts have.
Section 8.2 – This section majorly discusses the pattern of movements among different animals such as snails, earthworms, snakes, cockroaches, birds, fish, etc. Explanation of concepts using diagrams and activities help to understand movements in animals better. A set of technical terms, summarizing points, exercises in the chapter make it easier for students to learn and understand the concept of movement in living organisms.
