In general, we usually have three basic physical dimensions, i.e. Length, Mass and Time. But, as we go towards higher studies, new dimensions are being added like temperature, electric current, amount of light and amount of matter. For a student of 11 or 12 standards, these seven dimensions need to be known.

Light is made of particle called the photon. And each photon has some energy according to relation E= hV, where 'h' is planks constant and V is the frequency of the photon. Therefore, since light is made of photons which have some energy, so light itself inhibits some energy, which varies with varying frequency. So light is made of photons, so it is a form of energy.
