I used to teach Maths & Physics in Saint John's Co-ed School, Naini Allahabad, UP. It was a wonderful experience teaching 6th-10th grade students. I love discussing and explaining the various phenomena of physics and concepts of mathematics. My close interaction with students helped me understand what a student always looks in a teacher to get motivated and this makes him/her learn at a faster rate. I suppose yes. These days online classes are the new standard. And with better technology like functional internet connectivity and a laptop or mobile will be enough to get an experience like a typical classroom provided, the teacher is comfortable and experienced enough to teach online.
At this time, sending your ward to a coaching centre is very risky, and they need to adapt to this change. I think students shouldn't waste their time waiting for the situation to get regular and they go out to attend an offline coaching class. Instead, start improvising and adopt this change.
Finally, with a good teacher, better technology and a curious student can continue learning even during the lockdown.
