"Manish sir is the best teacher one can get. The best thing was the way of explaining topics and the chapter wise tests. A really great teacher and a great person. Always on time. Best teacher for chemistry one could get. "
Shivam
"A great teacher and a great friend. I used to hate chemistry and without sir, I don't think I would have been able to pass my 11th and 12th. The way of teaching is simply amazing, even chemistry sounds interesting and fun (i never thought I would say this ). It was a great experience, I would never forget. One of the best teachers, explaining ever concept, short stories of past experiences, interactive classes, giving knowledge about other things too apart from chemistry, chapter-wise tests, revision of every chapter, notes and understanding the problems students go through. You will not even realise how fast 1 hour went from your 1st class. Even made the most boring somehow fun. Best teacher ever. If you are looking for a chemistry tutor, Manish sir is the best sir. Thank you, sir, for such a great journey, without you I have no idea how I would have survived my 11th and 12th, I am really lucky to have you as my tutor and I would never forget these 2 years. Thank you forever thing. "

"My experience with him was one of the best I ever had. He is not just any regular teacher but someone who makes you educated as well as wise. In view of academics, he is the master of it all and you would definitely score a 100 by just following him and his advice and score much more in the coming life. Thank you, sir, for being there."

"Manish sir's way of teaching is awesome. I like the way how sir teaches with so great efforts and his incredible way of teaching. Also, sir makes every topic crystal clear by relating it with our daily life. I won't write any negative points because I didn't find any. "

Starting a home tuitions business can be quite tricky. Urbanpro is one such successful platform just because it gives autonomy to both parents and teachers, after charging a subscription free from teachers.
I only call those possible clients who I think can pay me well. So, in this business, there could be these business models.
1. You work on a commission basis.
You list your company on various websites, advertise your company through old school methods such as pamphlets, hoardings and hope for parents to contact you.
In that case, you negotiate charges yourself and assign teachers. Then you ask for a specific lower percentage of monthly costs say 10% every month of the year or you charge a higher rate (say 50%) once.
1st is bound to fail. I've been a part of that business too, and trust me, as a tutor nothing pisses me off than a random guy sitting in his air-conditioned room leaching on my hard earned money. But those aren't that successful either, because here too, dishonest teachers can make a background deal with parents asking parents to inform the company that they didn't like the teacher and do not need a new teacher anymore. And shazam! Your profits went down the drain.
The 2nd business model is slightly different and relies mostly on the visibility of the platform like Urbanpro. Both teacher and parents post their ads, and suitable matches can negotiate as they like. No 3rd party leaching on profits and no back-door dealings. In exchange for visibility on such platform, teachers are required to pay an initial non-refundable membership fee.
To me, the last model is most appropriate. It can cover a wider geographical area as the owner doesn't need to get involved personally but need a massive inflow of money initially to increase visibility.
1st is crap. It is almost guaranteed to fail. I've been in contact with two such companies in the past. One went insolvent within 18 months, and 2nd couldn't ever make it big, although ended up generating enough revenue for one household.
2nd works at a snail's pace. Relatively only a small geographical area can be covered.

Hello Kaveri.
I too am a microbiologist and have been teaching chemistry for the past four years now.
So, I guess I am eligible to answer your query.
As a microbiologist, one should be most apt in teaching Biology to senior classes.
And of course, science for secondary classes goes without saying.
Apart from this, if one has had any interest in Chemistry, then I don't think one would encounter any significant problem.
Moreover, if you completed your grad with flying colours and liked your subjects then knowledge of Immunology, Bacteriology, Plant pathology, Recombinant DNA tech, Genetics will benefit you.
You could also provide tuitions for those subjects separately. Only the sky is your limit.
