If a right circular cone has radius 4 cm and slant height 5 cm then what is its volume?

Volume of cone=V= 1/3 pi*r^2*h, but h can be found using Pythagoras theorem, 5^2=4^2+h^2, h=9^(1/2)=3, V= 1/3*pi*16*3=16pi.

The mean of 100 observations is 50. If one of the observation which was 50 is replaced by 150 then what will be the resulting mean?

Mean= sum of observations/ no. of observations, we have n=100, mean m=50 so sum=5000, new sum will be 5000-50+150=5100, new mean= m'=5100/100=51.
