Here,we first need to understand what is a prime number . Prime numbers are the numbers that are divisible by 1 and by themselves, right !! If we go by english meaning of the word PRIME,it is closed to "only me /self importance/most important/main "(in hindi it is "pradhan" ) . Thus,in mathematics we call such numbers as prime because they are not divisible by any other number (except 1 and "themselves" )thus having only two factors for them as 1 and the number itself ( "as they think they're so important and not touched/divided by other numbers .They deserve "prime treatment " and are different from others" !!!) . Basis the above perception, 0 and 1 ( factors 1 and 1; which are same; so no two different factors) are not prime numbers. The smallest prime is 2 ( factors 1 and 2 which are different; 1 and the number itself). I hope I answered your question !!!!

Here, first we need to understand the meaning of the word "Rational". If we go by English definition,it is close to "logical/objective/specific/detailed ". So, why we are calling any number as logical/objective/specific/detailed. I think ,it is because we are trying to find out more about the numbers knowing the concepts of integers/decimals/fractions.If we think of a number (like 2) we call it a whole number/natural number but we do not know about the denominator of this number. So if we write it as 2/1 which makes it a fraction not changing the value, (only changing the representation), and hence RATIONAL (detailed/specific with a logic/detail that denominator is 1) and it becomes a more specifically-defined number. So, if we define a rational number, we can say it's about representation of the number and it is done in the form a/b and b is not equal to 0. Thus, all integers , all whole numbers ,all natural numbers are rational numbers. These must have terminating decimal point which means numbers should be expressible in the form of a fraction (otherwise the numbers then are called as irrational numbers).
