"The task of the excellent teacher is to stimulate apparently ordinary people to unusual effort. The tough problem is not in identifying winners: it is in making winners out of ordinary people. I was studying in a boarding school in Mussoorie and had barely managed to pass my 8th grade. My parents were rightly concerned about how I would perform in my 10th board exams and decided to bring me back home. This is when I joined Shobha ma'am in 9th grade. She has had a huge impact on my learning which goes beyond the classroom. She always has words of inspiration; teaches the importance of hard work and positively motivates to keep improving. She has a knack of bringing out the best in each of her students. It was her dedication, patience and perseverance that I not only passed my 10th grade with flying colours but also went on to top Delhi University during my graduation, complete my MBA from a top US University, pass the Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst exams. She did not just educate us, she taught us the importance of education. It will be difficult to describe in a few words the impact Shobha ma'am has had on my outlook on learning and life in general. I can never thank her enough for her support, positive attitude, guidance and even her discipline. I wholeheartedly recommend Mrs. Shobha Bhutani without any reservations. Thanks a lot, Shobha ma'am. "

"Shobha Ma'am was my English teacher back in 97-98. I was to appear for my entrance and interview for The Lawrence school sanawar. How wonderfully she prepared me that I am thankful to her that I got into the most prestigious school in India. The public speaking skills that she instilled in me have helped me go places.I am very thankful to you Ma'am. I can'tt thank her enough for all the help that she gave me, with her help I was able to take my work to a next level.The best part was that she didn't give any homework,everything was done in the class.She taught in a manner which was really interesting and easily understood by everyone. A lot of attention was given to reading aloud,details of grammar and to understanding of subject matter. I even felt confident while writing my 10th as well as 12th English exam.I had no pre-exam blues.I will definitely recommend her as a tutor. "

"Well, she is a great mentor to have. Before I had come to her, my English was down in the dumps, but she with her patience, sincerity & hardwork completely changed the game. Infact, i am now so fluent in English as if it is my mother tongue. She is also an expert in Shakespeare's writings, infact the way she deciphered that Victorian age English written in it & lucidly explained us really shows her experience & command over the subject. Infact i can still remember Mark Antony's speech in the play "The Julius Caesar". In short she is a great teacher & a noble lady. Highly recommended for people experiencing difficulties to comprehend & understand the nuances of the english language & grammar. "I finished my 10th std. in 1994 from an ICSE School. From 8th Std. onwards I had studied at Mrs. Bhutani's classes. Not just English (Literature and Grammar) we also studied History and Geography from her. From IX to X we studied Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Thanks to her, I can still recite dialogues from the play verbatim. She made sure we took meticulous notes. Apart from notes she used various teaching aids to help us in understanding the matter and memorizing it effectively. I still remember she had prepared individual charts of temples and monuments with photographs, details of construction time and dynasty, salient features etc. all listed in bullet points. This was a great help in the History exams. More than 20 years later, now, my son is in Bishop Cotton School, Shimla. I turned to Mrs. Bhutani again and was not disappointed at all. She was instrumental in my son acing his entrance tests and since then he has studied from her during every winter break. Like me, generations of boys and girls from our town have studied from her and then had their children, in turn, study from her. She is not just a teacher, she is an institution unto herself. As a former student and as father of one of her current students I can wholeheartedly recommend her without reservation. "
