Depends on the reason for your yoga practice. Yoga should be part of your daily life, just like how we eat and sleep every day, it should be practised every day atleast for 30 mins. In Yoga, we teach something called Angamardana (the ultimate fitness) which would enhance the overall flexibility and strong muscles along with agility.

In Human physiology or yoga, Spine is the most important and that is why we call is as Meru danda (We call Himalayas as Meru parvatha) so lots of importance is given to Spine. First and foremost, Never learn yoga from books or online when you have a back pain condition. In Human physiology or yoga, Spine is the most important and that is why we call is as Meru danda (We call Himalayas as Meru parvatha) so lots of importance is given to Spine. Around 98% of people who have back pain it's always at the lower back because we haven't use the lower part of the muscles. If you are in the surrounding of Vijayanagar, you could always reach out to me, if not please visit any of Isha hatha yoga teachers who could guide you through the Asanas which could relive you of your back pain. I say this with the experience of teacher yoga to students from different countries and helped many with back pains.

Generally, not watching TV or engaged in any activity 30 mins before sleep will help the nervous system relax and be prepared for the resting process. In Yoga, there are specific kriyas which can be taught which will amplify your restfulness and you will be much more active and agile when you are awake.
