Hi, i am Moumita Sinha,B.Sc Physics Honours (1st class),M.Sc in Physics from University of Calcutta.The reason for being a tutor is simple. I want to be the one who canhelp the year 1 students, just like my previous mentors and tutors
who helped me a lot during my year 1 studies, not only helped me
on academic side, but also helped me adapt to the university life.Being a tutor is a new experience. Unlike being a tutee, a tutor hasto do much more preparation, like reviewing tuteesâ?? lecture notes and preparing questions for tutees. Even though these works used
up some of my study time, I can refresh what I have learned in my
year 1 study, to share my experience to my tutees and teach them
how to study.Besides preparation, tutors are the one who teach the tutees, so
we have to be a good listener and presenter. During the regular
meeting, tutees usually ask a lot of questions, therefore we need to
listen carefully, and answer logically, and it is a good time for me
to practice to be a good listener and presenter.It is a teacherâ??s daunting task to add life to their studentâ??s school day by generating interest in all subject areas, even those that can be tedious for most students. They work to create lesson plans tailored to their studentsâ?? level of cognitive ability and interests. Nowadays, teachers are working to move away from traditional methods of teaching and using more creative and abstract ways of presenting topics to their classes.
teaching is like a performing art. No amount of reading or attending workshops will prepare you for the challenge. You only get better with practice.
