IdentityThere is no greater pleasure than to see a student who has been performing below average shed the fear and grasp the subject. I have specialized in hand holding such students over the years. However, complete support from the students guardians are needed in this regard.
The student is not only taught the subject but equally important is gaining his/her trust with empathy, patience and bringing gradual clarity in the fundamentals (usually the main reason for inability to grasp the subject). Thereafter, a regimen of practice with a varying levels in increment of difficulty levels may follow. This is to make sure that the student is not frightened.
I do not teach a stable of students but hand hold a select few and look forward to their improvement. But, if the cooperation is not extended by the student and family, I would regret continuing the assignment.
Over the years, many of my students from La Marts, DBPC, MHS, etc have improved and passed their board exam with good results. I would not name any student for reference however as it is a matter of their privacy.
