I am teaching for the last 14 years.I love teaching and my passion for teaching has turned out to be my profession.I create a friendly atmosphere.I give a lot of emphasis in regular tests. Weak students are taken special care. I believe teaching is an art and this is the time when the student has to be governed with basics which enlighten their career. Thearefore selection of a guide is very important. As a teacher I believe this is one of the toughest profession as understanding a child is not easy. With my experience and expertise I always try to deliver my best. I request all the parents while selecting a guide for your son and daughter give emphasis on ethical values and education the medium of study , communication skills etc. This is the stage when the students are growing up but not grown up yet. Mathematics is such a vital subject that special care has to be provided, this is the last stage to improve in the subject and if failed can not be recovered. I hardly found and student who got better in Maths after class VIII. In certain school now a days streams are being chosen in class IX itself. I request all parents be very much cautious in selecting the stream. Please do not force the child taking your preferred stream. Let him decide what he want to study. Parents may guide their ward in selection by telling them what they can become by selecting the stream. Study should never become a burden, it should be enjoyed.. Best of Luck.. Arunava.

The onset of adolescence, Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood (age of majority). A stage when a child thinks he is always right. They become extremely egoistic and stubborn. We all think that it is very difficult to understand them but the fact is what I have gained from my experience is.It is the most easiest time to handle a kid. We often forget that every thing bad comes with some thing good. This is the stage when a child become responsible he understands his duties. He become respectful and thankful towards his /her parents. He/She grows up to become an adult. As far as studies are concerned he just need to be guided in the right path, right direction. I always behave in a friendly manner. Giving emphasis to regular tests, solution of complicated problems and making them understand each and every thing line by line. Very often I have found that not understanding the meaning of some particular words makes the whole chapter difficult, so special care has to be taken to see that they understand the meaning of each word. Since they sit for the first board exam so scenario must be created that they does not grow a phobia towards the exams. I always give importance in teaching them some social values because often I saw even kids are not being able to ask their parents about certain social facts. I think the role of a good teacher is all round development.

Well I have started teaching this level when I was in school about 19 years back. Experience and dedication towards private tutoring have made me what I am today. Obviously professional blend is required. Students of these age group are nothing but kids, so they should be treated specially. A teacher needs to be friendly in approach and understanding the childish nature of the kid. Main emphasis should be given in building up a strong base. The practice of speaking in English is vital, which help them to build up an ability towards understanding the problems in various subjects. Special emphasis is always on Maths as because other subjects can be understood even at a later age but Maths need a solid base. Duration of the class is not important but the quality of the class is important. How much the child has learnt during the stipulated time. The help and guide of a parent is very vital. Parents play a vital role at this stage . No matter even if a teacher is hired but they should still go through the lessons taught and look after the progress. For working parents it might be difficult but still its my heartfelt request to them at least to find one hour in a day to sit with your child..

For Olympiad a student needs to be systematic and well organised. A sharp brain with easy and quick mathematical calculations are required. Time management is very vital. Doing Maths is not important but doing it appropriately and within stipulated time is the key factor. The training starts at a very early age when a student is learning the basics. Mental calculations play a vital role, they should learn to calculate mentally because it saves time and energy... More over a mixture of Vedic Maths steps are also required. Some shortcuts like tables , square and square roots , cube and cube roots have to be learnt. Combination problem should be given more emphasis i.e the problems combining the concepts of two or three chapters. Most important is regular assessments if self and self evaluation. A note for Parents: Most of the students I have seen in my career are allergic to Maths. Continuous failure to solve problems even make the teacher and parents irritated. It should be kept in mind an atmosphere such has to be created that the student love the subject and not afraid of it, which requires a lot of patience from our side. Judging a student of what he or she is capable of is important in the sense that a specific treatment can be given understanding the skills of the student...
