The international English language testing system is a standardised English language test that is designed explicitly for foreign speakers who are willing to study abroad, live or even work in an English speaking society. This particular test assesses all the English speaking of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

The IELTS is actually developed by some of the world's leading English experts. It has an outstanding reputation. IELTS is broadly accepted worldwide, including schools, universities, employers, immigration etc.

There are two types of IELTS test.

IELTS Academic

IELTS General

The academic is for those who are planning to study for higher education or for those who want to pursue their work or training in a professional field. As the name implies, it is a version assesses the readiness for studying and training with English abroad.

IELTS General training comes into the picture when you are going to work in an English speaking country. Or you are migrating to an English speaking country such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the UK. These candidates will be tested on everyday use of the language with content and questions focused on workplace and social situations. It is particularly for the people who want to move and settle abroad

I hope this helps.
