Who accepts IELTS?

IELTS is recognized worldwide by many educational institutions, employers, governments, immigration authorities and professional bodies in any English speaking country such as Canada, Australia, the UK.

According to the British Council website, educational institutions in the USA accept IELTS scores as proof of English language proficiency.
IELTS is the only English language test that is accepted by the immigration authorities in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, for visa applications and migration purposes.
IELTS tests all four skills such as listening, reading, writing and speaking.
The official language of instruction in most universities is in English. If your first language is not English, you will be required to demonstrate that you have sufficient ability to complete university-level courses in English hence that is why IELTS is required.
Even working professionals are required to provide proof of English language proficiency because it is best to be prepared to face an entire community that only uses English as the language of communication.
