IELTS Study Guide - From Examiners Point Of View

When appearing for IELTS exam, you might want to showcase your entire knowledge of English, but that’s not going to improve your band score. You need to have your knowledge bagged with a strategic planning and time management, that’s going to bring in success for you. While you can follow time management tips for IELTS exam, here is a strategic plan that’s sure to progress your score and also create a long lasting impression in front of the examiners. IELTS Study Guide For your convenience, split the IELTS planning into sections that will help you to map your study plan easy and intelligent. Listening: When in the Listening section, you have to keep both your eyes and hands active. While hands will note the key words or important facts of the audio clips, your ears will take a note of them. Also, you need to do this indeed prompt as examiners do not replay the same audio clip. When you get audios with multiple speakers, make sure you remember who speaks what. Lastly, while putting your answers on the script do all the trial and run mentally and only put the final answer on paper. Speaking: 2 During the Speaking section of IELTS exam, your oratory is at the judgment. At the first place, do remember you only talk solid facts and not blabber unnecessary. Also, minimum effort like eye contact or the capability to create a debate gets more interest of the examiner. While talking make sure, you limit to the topic you are offered and do not go out from the track. Academic Reading: The Academic reading section in IELTS exam is very time bound. So as you start reading the article till you are answering, you need to be conscious of your every move. If only you are certain and confident about your answer, you can shoot for it. In the process, do not miss questions or over spend your time on this section. Also, the Academic Reading Section of IELTS exam bring in many kinds of questionnaires. Carefully read the rules and regulations, before you start attempting. General Reading: The Reading section of IELTS Academic and General version varies a lot. In case of the General section, the questions are mostly matching features, matching sentence endings, sentence completion, summary completion, note completion and more. Hence, it’s important for you to have an eagle’s eye to every information in the texts provided, so that your answers are absolutely correct and comprehensive. Academic Writing: 5 While drafting the essay, the first concern is avoiding typos, spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and silly mistakes. Also, do not think a lengthy essay will bag you score. Its only well drafted informative essay the IELTS examiners seek for. So when writing the essay, from start to end do keep these points in consideration. General Writing: IELTS do not want you to create an out of the box essay. They expect an essay that is factual, easy to read and holds flow from top to bottom. Do not make the essay unnecessarily long and use language that’s relevant and appropriate. Ornamental English and unnecessary facts will simply reduce your score at the end. When preparing for IELTS, do keep a little time in hand and take hep of the best experts you probably can -- the outcome is sure to be promising one.
