Stay calm and relaxed It is natural to be anxious before an exam. Still try to stay calm and relaxed. Least you want is to perform poorly due to anxiety. This will help you to understand the rules better. Abide by the rules It is always good to follow the instructions and abide by the rules. Here are few rules for IELTS test day: - Switch off your electronic devices including mobile phones. You will need to place these with other personal belongings outside before entering the test room.
- No breaks are allowed when you are taking -- Listening, Reading and Writing sections. It takes 2 hours and 40 minutes.
- Make sure you eat and drink before the test. As no food is allowed inside the test room and you will be allowed to drink only from a transparent bottle.
- Listen to the instructions of the supervisor on how to sit for the test.
- Remember to read the instructions before starting the test.
- Don’t lose points for careless mistakes because you haven’t read the instructions properly.
- Like any other exam, have an eye on time to complete all questions. There will have a clock on the wall in every test room.
- For Listening, Reading and Writing tests allot enough time for each section.
- Be aware that some questions have suggested time limits for you to follow.
